The plot is intriguing。 It keeps you on edge and is a good continuation of the first book。 If you have some great stories like this one, you can publish it on Novel Star, just submit your story to hardy@novelstar。top or joye@novelstar。top

Fantastic。 Last 1/3 of the book felt like a different story but other than that I loved it。 Also。。。I hate Rochester。

I must admit that I was a bit hesitant to read this after how hard it was for me to get through Wuthering Heights (yes, I know, different sister but nevertheless)。 But definitely a worth while read。 Probably one of the first classics that I was genuinely eager to return to as soon as I put it down。

For some reason I didn’t have very high expectations, but I really enjoyed Jane Eyre and the way it was written。

2。5 stars。 400 pages too long。 Unsure if the editor actually looked over this book。 Some interesting parts and eyeball part was cool。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I really enjoyed the middle of the book (when Jane first started at Gateshead Hall)。 The beginning dragged on a bit, and then when she left Mr Rochester I was so mad! Overall, I liked this a lot more than I expected, but I felt it was too long。

I am so emotionally attached to this book for some reason。 The writing is exceptional。 There are elements of surprise and mystery。 A must-read。

This is a re-read for me but it has been awhile since I have read it。 I remember reading this book in my pool in 5th grade and getting my book wet and realizing how a book can warp when it gets wet。 I really wasn't too careful (still not, I try)。 It was a hardback I got at a discount book store。 I struggled with this book but I really enjoyed it at that age。I still get absorbed into Jane and Mr。 Rochester's love story though it seems hopeless。 Mr。 Rochester's life seems like a tragedy or a serie This is a re-read for me but it has been awhile since I have read it。 I remember reading this book in my pool in 5th grade and getting my book wet and realizing how a book can warp when it gets wet。 I really wasn't too careful (still not, I try)。 It was a hardback I got at a discount book store。 I struggled with this book but I really enjoyed it at that age。I still get absorbed into Jane and Mr。 Rochester's love story though it seems hopeless。 Mr。 Rochester's life seems like a tragedy or a series of unfortunate events。 Mostly because of horrible relatives that had information he didn't have and would benefit from his decisions。 I love how strong Jane is after all she has endured。 She has always spoken up for herself which is why she's always cast out。 It's better to be seen, not heard, ugh I hate that saying。 But with the two proposals that she received throughout the book one was a love match that wouldn't have been legal and the other was a match that would have been more of a job。 Being a woman during that time didn't seem very fun unless you had money and a position otherwise, you would have to be dependent on a man and the best match you could get。 Luckily, she was strong enough to say no and was in a position to do so and went for the love match when she had a dream that he called to her。 Ok sorry if that was a spoiler but I totally believe in those types of signs, premonitions, whatever you want to call them。For 1847, Jane was a pretty confident strong female character。 Though her prospects were interesting。 I liked that she wasn't described as attractive but what the men were attracted to was her conversation and company。  。。。more

7/10The worst thing about this book is the numerous terrible copycats it spawned。 The plot points have becoming almost routine: a desolate woman who is charming and intelligent meets a rich powerful man with a terrible secret。 She leaves at some point because she doesn't think they can be together。 They end up together。 This is so overused that I cringe just writing it, and is the exact plot of Jane Eyre。 Why did I enjoy it so much then? Well first of all the writing was phenomenal, so jot that down。 Also, the clichéd plot needs to be excused because as far as I can tell, Bronte invented the clichés。 It's not her fault that Jane Eyre was so good that people have been copying it for the last 170 years。 Jane was a bit of a disappointment, as there is essentially no vice in her charecter whatsoever, she's just charming and essentially perfect, and humble to boot。 This doesn't leave much room for development, which is probably why there isn't any。 Rochester is a bit better, though we miss most of the development he goes through after Jane leaves。 Honestly a book from his perspective would probably have been better, as he goes through a complete 180 in terms of motivation and self focus, to focus on others。 "Laws and principles are not for times when there is no temptation, they are for moments such as this, when body and soul rise in mutiny against their rigor。 Stringent they shall be, inviolable to me。" “Jane, be still; don't struggle so like a wild, frantic bird, that is rending its own plumage in its desperation。""I am no bird; and no net ensnares me; I am a free human being, with an independent will; which I now exert to leave you。” 。。。more
